WHAT IS A SPECIALTY INFUSION PHARMACY?
Specialty infusion pharmacies are making it easier for patients to access long-term therapy without enduring extended hospital stays. Not only does it enable patients to resume their normal activities more quickly, but home infusion can also be more cost effective than a long hospital stay and reduce the risk of hospital-acquired infections. This service is also available to people that require infusion treatment but are not able to leave their homes due to health conditions. It also gives these patients the option to receive infusion therapies at their homes, rather than going to a hospital.
Alivia Infusion Services is a closed-door pharmacy that not only processes infusion prescriptions for patients but has a network of certified nurses that can administer therapy-via needle or catheter-and monitor a patient’s treatment.
A specialty infusion pharmacy generally dispenses a 7-to-14 day supply of medication to the patient with laboratory tests typically performed weekly. Pharmacists need to be aware of the blood draw and track laboratory test results before the next shipment is due, so the results can be reviewed before the drug is shipped out.
Our available therapies include:
+ Intravenous Infusion of Antibiotics at the Patient's Home
+ IV Hydration Services
+ Handling of Specialized Products
